03.10.05 - SIMBA’S CULTIVATORS BREAK NEW GROUND

Simba’s Solo ST and X-Press cultivators are proving popular draws for farmers in the Czech Republic, where Agri CS, the company’s newly appointed importer, staged some 30 field demonstrations during September to great acclaim.

Agri CS is based at Hustopece, some 20 miles from Brno in the South of the country. It is a main Case and Steyr dealer, selling to farmers across the country via a network of authorised dealers:

“The Solo and X-Press were only delivered in late August, but have already made a huge impression in field trials. They were both at work almost every day in September”, says Attila Nyaradi, Simba’s Territory Manager in Eastern Europe.

The country’s soils are mainly medium/heavy, many of them having a significant stone or gravel content. Much of the arable land is sloping:

“Farmers have been impressed with their performance. The X-Press has shown itself capable of leaving a well-cultivated and levelled seedbed, worked to a consistent depth, which is weatherproof and needs little or no further work ahead of drilling.

“The implement’s stone protection system has also impressed those who have seen the implement in work”, says Attila. He expects Simba equipment to appeal to farmers looking to reduce establishment costs and make optimum use of the new, larger tractors they are currently buying:

“There are many 2,000 to 5,000 hectare farms in the country. They are under the same pressure from low wheat prices and rising costs as those across the rest of Europe.

“Most farms are already comparatively well equipped and many are already using reduced tillage. Agri CS is already selling many tractors of 200hp and above – including Quad Tracs and wheeled Steigers. We believe that once they see the quality of work that Simba equipment can do, and appreciate its high output and low maintenance requirement, it will sell well in the country”.
